The EM FC7 Cryo Microtome, manufactured by Leica, is an accessory device used to create frozen samples using an ultramicrotome. It has the capability of producing ultra-thin slices of soft polymeric materials and biological samples under freezing conditions with maximum precision. Improved Operability and Workspace

The static discharge and storage functions of the Leica EM CRION Ionizer can be controlled with a foot switch, significantly improving the reproducibility of dry sample recovery. The mounted micromanipulator allows for precise grid positioning, making dry sample recovery with advanced techniques easier than ever. LED chamber lighting with multiple angles of illumination provides excellent visibility when operating and picking up samples.

Enhanced Stability and Environment Control

The sample arm is wall and non-contact mounted, increasing the stability of the device and allowing for cryo cutting without vibration. The optional Cryo Sphere, which covers the Leica EM UC7/FC7, ensures an environment with relative humidity below 10%. This prevents contamination from tiny frost particles which can be a problem in high humidity. The chamber walls are heated, preventing frost from adhering during long operations and providing a comfortable working environment. The hand rest is also kept warm with a GN2 gap between the chamber and arm rest.
