Acellular Dermal Matrix (ADM) – A Biomaterial for Skin Tissue Replacement, Repair and Reconstruction

Acellular Dermal Matrix (ADM) is a biomaterial used for replacement, repair, and reconstruction of human skin tissue. Produced by MedPark Co. from South Korea, ADM is derived from donated human tissue and should only be used once per patient. The product undergoes a strict donor-screening process and is manufactured in a self-manufacturing facility to ensure high biocompatibility and tensile strength.

Storage Requirements for S Derm FD, CP and HD

S Derm FD (Freeze dried Acellular Dermal Matrix) should be stored at room temperature (1~30℃) and rehydrated individually before use. Rehydration time varies depending on the thickness of the tissue, with 0.1mm~less than 1mm requiring at least 10 minutes, 1mm- less than 3mm requiring at least 20 minutes, and 3mm or more requiring at least 30 minutes. To remove any residual reagents and antibiotics, the rehydration solution should be exchanged at least three times for 10 minutes each. For S Derm CP (Cryopreserved Acellular Dermal Matrix), it should be kept frozen (below -40°C). When ready for use, the last internal packaging material containing the product should be defrosted in a sterilized solution until the product is completely dissolved. After that, the product should be cleaned in a sterile solution to remove any remaining reagents and antibiotics. S Derm HD (Hydrated Acellular Dermal Matrix) should also be kept at room temperature (1~30℃). Before using, the internal packaging material should be opened and the product should be cleaned in a sterile solution to remove any reagents and antibiotics that may remain.

Tissue Banks and Use Agencies Responsibilities

Tissue banks and use agencies are responsible for storing, distributing, and returning cryopreserved and hydrated acellular dermis in an appropriate storage environment prior to transplantation. For cryopreserved acellular dermis, it should be refrigerated (below -40℃) until immediately before transplantation and returned with refrigerant (dry ice) in a container that remains below -40℃. For hydrated acellular dermis, it should be stored at room temperature (1~30℃) until immediately before transplantation and returned at room temperature (1~30℃).

Product Storage Duration

S Derm FD (Freeze dried Acellular Dermal Matrix) should be stored at room temperature (1~30℃) and frozen storage is prohibited. If stored at room temperature (1~30℃), it can be stored for up to 5 years. S Derm CP (Cryopreserved Acellular Dermal Matrix) should be frozen (below -40℃) and refrigeration or room temperature storage is prohibited. If stored in a freezer (below -40°C), it can be stored for up to 5 years. S Derm HD (Hydrated Acellular Dermal Matrix) should be kept at room temperature (1~30℃) and frozen storage is prohibited. If stored at room temperature (1~30°C), it can be stored for up to 2 years.

Use Guidelines

Before using, the expiration date and packing condition should be checked. This product should only be used by doctors and dentists and use other than for purposes of use is prohibited. The site to be transplanted should not be infected or undergoing infection. The tissue should be used within 4 hours after rehydration and cryopreserved acellular dermis should not be thrown.
